I don't have a solution for this, but one of the Autodesk Civil 3D Discussion group members posted this one.

Speaking of strange behavior - is it only on my computers that when i drag a point lable around - the whole point group remains in "select mode" ie appearing as it is still selected. I've mentioned this in a few places but no one seems to care! different video cards dont seem to matter.
Ha, I see my cutest error ever is still standing. I'm back to using Civil3D with more success nowdays.
